New Origami

This post I made in April and forgot to post it :)

Once again Youtube has helped me fold some awesome things (with the exception of my spring).
The first is my spring that I designed one day with my kids menu at a restaurant called Country Boy. If you drop it on a table or another flat surface it will bounce up a few inches.

The next is a skeleton hand which I am probably going to use to decorate for Halloween.
This one is a fly swatter, I know, right your probably thinking "whats so cool about a fly swatter?". The cool thing is on the other side.....
It's a Man Swatter!!!!!!!

On Youtube there is a lot of videos of origami dragons. So I started an origami dragon collection.

More Legos !!!!!

This is a Lego Hero-Factory which is connected by a ball and joint.
Hero-Factorys are so much fun to make.
I have a lot of pieces like this so I think that I will post another one soon.
My mom said that I should post this on my blog. This is from left to right Aubrey, Carter me, and Andrew
 This is Aubrey.
If you know her she loves animals so I put my Lego dog and cat beside her.
This is Carter me.
I love electronics so I gave myself a Lego computer.
This is Andrew.
He is always on his bike and he loves fishing(and overalls).

New Lego Stuff

This is what I am entering in the Lego Castle building competition in this months Lego magazine. I call it Knight-Mech. My first one did not turn out good because the arms and legs were not posable and it was more boxy. The five winners will win a $100 Lego gift card.
This is the back of the Knight-Mech. You can see the gold crystal on the back too.
This is my pistol that I made yesterday. It will shoot anything that will fit in the barrel. I used two of Aubrey's hairbands to make the launching mechanism.
I really enjoy building with Legos (exept the mess) and I hope to post some more stuff soon.
well gotta go clean up legos :)

LEGO RV and Boat

I spent several hours on Monday night constructing this RV.

Yesterday I built this boat to go with the RV.
My original intention was for the boat not to look like a lifeboat, but it happened that way.

The inside of the RV has a couch, a table and two chairs, a TV (you can't see it at this angle), a drivers seat, and two storage bins.  The room in the back is a bed room with a bed and extra clothes.

This is the trailer hitch that holds the boat trailer and the RV together.

I really enjoy building with Lego's and I hope to post more Lego things I build.

The Snake

This is a King snake and the story of how we found it.

So yesterday my mom was mowing and she kept on telling us to get our stuff out of the yard.
I had already been in and out three or four times. I was building with Legos in the playroom when I heard mama screaming to Aubrey something.  I couldn't understand her and I thought that is was about picking her stuff up so I kept on building. Then Andrew screams, "CARTER! IT'S A SNAKE!".  I run downstairs and out the door and everyone is gathered around a tree. I look over there and I see a King snake (of course we didn't know that until later).
Aubrey runs off screaming, "I"M GONNA CALL MASUE"!
Aubrey comes back with a Lego box so we can catch it. Mama hands me the camera so I took some pictures while Andrew got a shovel and was trying to force it into the box that Aubrey was holding.
We ended up catching it in the box.
Then everything went back to normal, I went to finish my space shuttle (hopefully I'll post it on here), mama went back to mowing, Hope and Benjamin jumped on the trampoline, Andrew went with me and I think Aubrey had school to finish.
It was a pretty exiting Wednesday because we caught the snake (that eventually died) and on our way to church we were riding down the road when the car in front of us hits a deer and the deer goes flying over the rails by the road. That's right, we saw a deer fly!

This was the first snake sighting at our new house so it was exciting.

Our Pet Collection

This is Aubrey's salamander named Tiny. He might look small in the picture but he's really longer than my hand. He is also really strong (for a salamander). He is not wet or slimy just rough.

This is Tiny's terrarium.  He has a rock and some bark to hide under. Aubrey feeds him worms for every meal.

For Easter we got five ducks from our grandmother. At first they were inside but our parents said they stunk to much so they put them outside in the doghouse.
They all like to swim and four are Black Mallard females and one we aren't certain about yet.
We give them poultry starter grower feed and Cheerios for treats.

Aubrey and I got rabbits for Easter last year.  Mine died in a few days so we were able to get it replaced and then our grandmother bought one for Andrew too.  Last summer we had some very hot days in the 100's and two rabbits died of heat stroke.  Aubrey's is the only one remaining.  Her name is Coconut.
This is the hutch that our dad built when we all had rabbits. Now it all goes to Coconut.

This is Smokey the cat that has caught three mice, a mole, a chipmunk and a rabbit and that's only the stuff we've seen.

This is Jojo the cat that we thought was to scared to catch anything but the other day she caught a lizard.

This is Bandy our fourteen year old dog that my parents have had since she was a puppy. She has a tumor and she is almost deaf and she thinks she's young so she tries to catch the cats but she can't.

Aubrey and I got fifty chicks about a week ago from 4-H.
They all (except one) are Barred Rock chickens.
We have only named two, the first one is Aubrey's Silkie chicken named Sunny (the one below is not Sunny).

And this one is named Puff, she's mine and she has a yellow face.
We have a lot of pets and they take some work (for example today I was changing the chick's water and I spilled a whole gallon all over the kitchen floor) but in the end they are really fun to have.

Now to build a coop!

duct tape

In the past few years I have been making duct tape wallets and other stuff. Most of it I did with no instructions. Its pretty easy to do, all you have do is make a sheet of tape two times the size of whatever you are making then just fold it over and add pockets. These are the two wallets I have made.
For Valentines Day Aubrey got me and Andrew both rolls of camouflage duct tape so I taught Andrew how to make a wallet.
Two Christmas's ago my parents got me a lime green roll of duct tape. When I made this wallet it was the only time I ever used instructions to make something out of duct tape. When I got my roll from Aubrey I gave her my green one and that's why there's an A and Velcro on it.
You can tell its older than the camouflage one.
The Christmas after I got the green duct tape I got a new Bible so I made it a cover.
I  don't have a picture of the DS case I made because it got torn up by Benjamin when we went to Africa.
Yesterday I was bored and I had a half of roll of duct tape so I searched the internet for things to make from duct tape. All that came up was wallets, hats, flip flops, bows, and flowers, the list goes on and on. Of course I didn't have enough tape for most of that and I didn't want another wallet and no flowers and bows for me. I don't know what got into me but I decided to make a pillow. I was half way there when I ran out of tape, thankfully Aubrey gave Andrew the exact kind she got me so he gave me the rest of his.

I can't wait to get more duct tape so I can make more stuff.

origami slinky

This is my origami slinky that I made with some help from a YouTube video.

It uses 70 square pieces of paper, you fold the paper to make this shape and attach them all together.
It took me around a week to finally finish it.
The slinky is an uneven hexagon with a square in the middle.
I am really looking forward to making more origami and posting it on my blog.
